NDIA — First Nations cultural-safety learning ecosystem

Assistant Director, Training Design Package Lead · NDIA (First Nations / Cultural Safety) · 2026

An enterprise cultural-safety learning program built on the principle that safety is judged by the people who receive it.

The Challenge

Embed recipient-determined cultural safety across frontline roles, aligned to the NDIS First Nations Strategy 2025–30 and Closing the Gap Priority Reform 3 — where the standard is whether the recipient experiences safety, not whether training was delivered.

What I Did

Designed a segmented program architecture mapping the First Nations Cultural Safety Principles to four workforce cohorts — eLearning, workshops, critical-reflection circles and communities of practice, anchored by a Cultural Safety Learning Hub — and owned the enterprise learning calendar across a 2025–28 roadmap.

The Outcome

Delivered a multi-cohort cultural-safety learning system, with the underlying thinking published as two interactive tools (items 9 and 10).
